We are at one of those points in life where there are several decisions about our future that are up in the air because they are in someone else hands. There is an elementary school at the University that is called a laboratory school and it is supposed to be the best "free" school in the valley. It has many advantages with small class sizes, lots of teachers (some university students and a "master teacher" in each classroom), and innovative educational techniques. We wouldn't really have bothered because it would mean driving her to and from school EVERY day, but Gavin's preschool is held in the same building so we will be going up there anyway. The school has a lottery system to pick who gets in and Emma's two friends have already heard that they didn't get in. But we still haven't heard and don't know what that means. Did they even get our application? I hope we'll be able to find out on Monday (tomorrow).
The other major decision that's up in the air is Jason's job. Jason applied for a full-time position as a librarian (he's currently only a part-time associate librarian) that would almost double his income. We thought it was a great opportunity because he wouldn't lose anything by applying--that was until the boss started hinting that the Everton Collection (whose existence has been up for debate before it ever even opened) would need to be closed because the building it's housed in is under construction and there is no where to move it to. Which means that if he doesn't get this promotion, there is the "implication" that he would be out of a job sometime in the near future. That wouldn't be as worrisome if librarian jobs in Utah were more plentiful--it could mean us needing to move out of state! Of course, all of this is speculation. I think the most frustrating thing is that it's all out of our control! The boss told Jason that he would pick the applicant on Friday (two days ago), so when Jason didn't hear from him, we got worried. But we still have the hope that he picked Jason on Friday and just won't tell him until Monday! Oh, who knows!
We aren't really worried because we know the Lord has a plan for us and that we can get through anything together. But it would be nice to know so that we can start making plans! Anyway, don't worry for us, but if you happen to remember us in your prayers today--we'd appreciate it! And I hope we'll have some answers for you tomorrow....

Ross and I can definitely feel for you! When he was working in the Provo City Library the politics were almost unbearable.
Ross suggested "offing" another senior librarian to insure you can get the position you want. LOL :)
That school program sounds really wonderful! I hope she gets in!
That doubling of income sounds wonderful! I hope he gets it!
So much in the air! I hope you can get your answers (and good answers at that!) tomorrow.
Good luck with the new job. We have felt the hand of the Lord in our lives as some great jobs past me by and even when I was laid off last fall. It has all worked out for the best. Actually being laid off has turned out to be a great blessing as my new job is much better for our family than my previous job was.

It's wonderful how it all works out, and it will. But sometimes the waiting and the unknown and the anxiety is a little much...and sometime the excitement and anticipation are a little like Christmastime! Good luck!!
