Easter, No. 2

The "second" Easter celebration lasted three days (not on purpose, that's just what happened). On the Saturday before we went on three egg hunts, one at the mall, one at a grocery store, and then finally a neighbor that does one traditionally every year. We figured that was enough candy to last us and enough hunting, so we negated doing any on the actual day. Instead we dyed eggs, which Emma flipped over! She has such and artistic flare to life. We also got a picture of the "girls" in their Easter dresses (we actually bought Emma an article of clothing from a store other than D.I.--AMAZING--okay, it was Wal-Mart, but still...). We also talked some about the real purpose of Easter. Emma really couldn't accept that we weren't doing a hunt at home, so we caved (sort of) and did one for Family Home Evening on Monday. It was not at all traditional though because it was more like a treasure hunt, but at each stop we taught the kids about each stage of the events leading to the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ. It was really cool and probably the only time that Gavin has stayed happy and engaged through a whole FHE! I'm kind of thinking this might be the start of a tradition.
